About the Filtered Series: Taking a Deeper Look at God

Look at God

Through the challenges and trials of life, I’ve become something of a collector of wisdom, not just any wisdom, but the kind that resonates with the deepest parts of the soul. It has caused me to look at God.

Over time, we’ve sifted through the vast expanse of worldly advice and well-researched insights, holding onto what remains true and discarding what ultimately falls short. What we’ve found is that much of this wisdom aligns with foundational Scripture. Where it does, it proves transformative. But there’s something deeper at play, this wisdom doesn’t just reflect human insight; it reveals evidence of God’s truth woven throughout creation. The more we delve into both Scripture and the wisdom of the world, the clearer it becomes that God’s presence is evident in every corner of life, guiding us toward a deeper understanding of His nature and purpose.

This question has led us to a profound realization: Can God’s truth be woven into the fabric of human experience? Can we trace His wisdom throughout the world, confirming and deepening our understanding of His nature? This insight is central to our mission: to allow wisdom to engage with Scripture, unveiling truths that not only transform lives but also illuminate a deeper understanding of both the created world and the Creator. In doing so, we see that much of this wisdom is rooted in God Himself, providing unmistakable evidence of His presence and guidance throughout every aspect of life.

Look at God

Perhaps you’ve come to a place where life feels worn thin, where the things you’ve chased have left you empty, and the answers you once trusted no longer hold. You’ve tried, and tried again, only to find yourself weary and disappointed, wondering if there’s anything solid beneath your feet. Maybe you’ve begun to suspect that life, as it is, simply cannot satisfy, that what you truly long for lies somewhere beyond it. We may find that the only way out is pursuing some sort of hope or if a believer, pursuing God. What if, when we look beneath the surface of hope, we realize the foundation of hope is God Himself? In time, we may discover that much of the wisdom we once valued was, in fact, deeply rooted in Scripture.

That’s the mission behind Ruth and Rupert.

The goal is to explore the wisdom of our time, expert counsel and philosophies that have stood the test of time and examine where they align with God and where they fall short. Through essays and articles, we’ll explore the intersection of worldly wisdom and biblical truth, like learning from the life lessons of wise old friends named Ruth and Rupert.

Look at God

Whether you’re a believer or not.

Whether you wrestle with doubt or walk in confident faith, we hope this becomes a place where you can engage with life’s big questions. Here, wisdom encounters Scripture to open your thinking and, ultimately, your life. Through Ruth and Rupert, we strive to be like that wise, trusted friend, guiding you to discover well-lived wisdom and showing where it intersects with Scripture. Together, we aim to transform lives and open minds to a deeper understanding of the world and who God is, through the lens of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.
